U-M Dermatopathology Fellowship
The University of Michigan Department of Dermatology, in partnership with the Department of Pathology, offers a one-year fellowship in dermatopathology. This well-balanced program, with emphasis on diagnostic dermatopathology, provides broad exposure to all areas of dermatopathology, including inflammatory dermatoses and cutaneous oncology.
Our highly skilled and experienced team of Dermatopathology faculty will train and mentor all dermatopathology fellows. Pathology-trained fellows spend a portion of their training rotating in the Dermatology Clinic. Dermatology-trained fellows rotate in surgical pathology, with emphasis in areas that overlap with dermatopathology. All fellows interact closely with residents, fellows, and staff of the Dermatology Department and the University of Michigan Multidisciplinary Melanoma Program.
The dermatopathology service reads thousands of biopsies per year, including in house cases, outside consultative cases, and direct immunofluorescence specimens. The fellow is encouraged to participate in ongoing investigative projects in the area of dermatopathology.
Applicants must be board-certified or eligible in dermatology and/or anatomic pathology.
Support is commensurate with the candidate's level of training.
Interested applicants can find further instructions and an application online at the UM Pathology Website: http://www.pathology.med.umich.edu/. Applications should be made by April 1st for fellowships beginning July 1st in the next calendar year (i.e., 15 months prior to fellowship start date). Early applications are encouraged.
