The district also offers an open elementary school, Mack Elementary School; a charter elementary school, Honey Creek; and a year-round program of events, classes and developmental guidance for younger children and their parents, called First Steps Washtenaw County.
Approximately 76 percent of the teaching staff have at least a master’s degree, and Ann Arbor schools consistently exceed the national performance averages on standardized tests for all grade levels.

Language and Culture Schools
Ann Arbor Chinese School
The Ann Arbor Chinese School, associated with Taiwan, offers Chinese language and culture classes for young children. Meets Friday evenings at Northside Elementary School in north Ann Arbor.
Annhua Chinese School
This non-profit, parents-sponsored school teaches Chinese language and promotes Chinese culture. The school offers Chinese-as-a-second-language courses for ages 5 - 9 ½ and their parents. Meets every Sunday on North Campus.
Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor
Offering half-day Hebrew language immersion together with outstanding
secular academics, art and music programs for K-5.
Korean School of Ann Arbor
Instruction focuses on Korean language and culture taught in English and Korean. For ages 4–adult. Open to all. Meets Saturdays at Tappan Middle School.
Michigan Islamic Academy
MIA is a full-time, K-high school near U-M’s North Campus. MIA offers students a broad range of academic and religious subjects, including Arabic language and Islamic studies. Montessori and non-Montessori programs.
