The Power Center located on Main Campus
Opening in 1971, the U-M's Power Center offers a proscenium-stage theatre for the performing arts. According to the Musical Society, "the Power Center achieves the seemingly contradictory combination of providing a soaring interior space with a unique level of intimacy... No seat in the Power Center is more than 72 feet from the stage." -
Purple Rose Theatre
Actor Jeff Daniels, a Chelsea native, founded this non-profit theatre in 1991. -
University Musical Society
This is one of the oldest performing arts presenters in the country and hosts approximately 75 performances and 150 free educational activities each season. Catch the Royal Shakespeare Company, the London Philharmonic, Murray Perahia, Wynton Marsalis and Midori here.
