About Women's Health

The Women's Health Program at the University of Michigan Health System is dedicated to providing the highest-quality health care and outreach services to women and their families. The Program was launched in 1993 as a concerted effort on the part of doctors, nurses, and administrators in 15 different hospital departments. They came together with the sole goal of improving services for our women patients. Today, more than 30 departments participate in the Women's Health Program, including the Osteoporosis Program, Turner Geriatric Center, the Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Women's Hospital Birth Center, the Women's Mental Health Initiative, and Preventive Cardiology--to name a few. Each participating department is dedicated to providing educational opportunities, sponsoring community health events, and tailoring clinical services to meet the needs and interests of women patients. Here at the Women's Health Program, we believe that by providing comprehensive services, compassionate providers, extensive outreach activities, and a full-service Women's Health Resource Center, we help women become and stay healthy at all stages of life.

We hope this newsletter will provide you with a good introduction to the Women's Health Program and affiliated services. We're excited about spreading the word on our latest developments, new services, and upcoming events. This program was designed with you in mind and it is our goal to continue to be responsive to women in our community. Please don't hesitate to contact us at (734) 647-0448 with comments, kudos, ideas, or questions. To all the women who already are patients, staff, or volunteers of the Women's Health Program, we say thanks, for all of you who are new to our Program, we extend a warm welcome and hope that you will find this newsletter informative and enjoyable.
