Where your Gift is Needed
The UMHS Women's Health Program connects women to the very best resources in health care, research and education. We believe that by providing comprehensive services, compassionate providers, extensive outreach activities and a full-service Women’s Health Resource Center, we help women actively participate in managing their health throughout the lifespan.
The Women’s Health Resource Center provides free health and wellness information and assistance accessing resources in the health system and in the community to UMHS patients, their families, UM staff and community members.
Patient Education
- Health Education for Pregnant Women and Their Families: Whether you are a first time Mom or you just need a refresher, we provide education to help navigate the changes you experience and the questions you may have during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond.
- Happiest Baby on the Block: Classes teaching skills to calm crying newborns resulting in better sleep for babies and increase parental confidence developed by well known pediatrician Harvey Karp, M.D.
- Breastfeeding Support: UMHS Lactation Consultants teach breastfeeding skills and provide encouragement and support for breastfeeding women by offering one-on-one consultations.
