of UMHS employees. These related services include:
MHealthy
Mhealthy is the website where you can find programs that are part
of the U-M Campus-wide Michigan Healthy Community initiative.
You can access Healthwise, the comprehensive online health information
resource for UM faculty and staff.
Infection Control & Epidemiology (IC&E)
Infection Control works to reduce the risk of infection for patients, visitors and personnel at the UMHHC. The department provides epidemiological expertise in infection prevention and control through education, investigation, research and consultation. It also performs targeted surveillance, investigation of adverse events and infectious disease clusters.

Safety Management Services (SMS)
Safety Management Services is available to assist UMHS departments and employees with fire safety, occupational safety, radiation safety and hazardous materials response, as well as environment protections, pollution protection, ergonmics and industrial hygiene.

Work~Connections
Work~Connections is an integrated disability management program designed to assist and support faculty and staff when they have an illness or injury. This can be either work-related or non-work-related. All work-related illnesses and/or injuries must be reported to Work~Connections right away (within 24 hours.) All non-work-related illnesses and injuries must be reported to Work~Connections after the 10th day of absence, or earlier if desired.

MWorks Disability Management
MWorks Occupational Therapists (OT) provide job coaching and other services to facilitate an employee’s successful return to work after an injury or illness. MWorks OTs work with supervisors and employees to design suitable accommodations for an employee with an ongoing, chronic condition that is impacting his or her work.
MWorks medical case managers work with employees who have either work-related or non-work-related injuries and illnesses to help them navigate the health care process, ensure optimum recovery, and minimize time away from work. UMHS employees are generally referred to MWorks Case Managers through Work~Connections.
Work/Life Resource Center
The WLRC can assist U-M employees with child care, care for aging parents, and back-up child care (Kids Care at Home.) You can also get help with work/life balance issues and the design of flexible work schedules. An elder-care expert can help you sort through the issues of finding help when a family member becomes ill or disabled.
