Steps for Volunteering at Michigan Medicine
High School Teens between the ages of 16-18 can apply to volunteer at Michigan Medicine for the summer session only (June-August).
Exception: Teens are permitted to volunteer any time of the year if they have a pre-arranged agreement with a lab or research area. Please refer to the Pre-Approved Volunteers button on the homepage for more information.
Note: Teens must be 16 years of age by June 15th to be eligible to volunteer at Michigan Medicine. This includes students who graduated from high school but have not yet started college.

NEW Teen Volunteers — Follow these steps:
Step 1 - Register to attend an Information Session. The registration website opens on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 7:00 pm. You must attend an Information Session accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to be eligible to volunteer.
Click here for: Directions to the Information Session.
Notice: Attending an Information Session does not guarantee an interview appointment.
Interviews will be held June 22-26, 2020.
Step 2 - Schedule and attend an Interview. Instructions for scheduling an interview will be provided at the Information Session. Bring ALL items listed on the Volunteer Interview Checklist to your interview. You will forfeit your appointment if your materials are incomplete. Your interview will last approximately 2 hours.*
Step 3 - Sign-up and attend a General Orientation session. Instructions for scheduling an Orientation will be provided at the Information Session. You may attend Orientation before or after your Interview date, but please choose the earliest possible date. The sooner you complete Orientation, the sooner you can start volunteering! Attendance at one general orientation session is mandatory for new volunteers.
Click here: Directions to General Orientation.
Step 4 - Begin volunteering!
*NOTE: We live in a generous community where many want to volunteer at Michigan Medicine. Because of the limited number of volunteer placements available, every missed appointment means someone else is prevented from having the opportunity to interview. Therefore, we are not able to accept an application from, or schedule future interviews for, anyone who missed their original Volunteer Interview appointment without notifying Volunteer Services.
