“The Men’s Event” is a signature
fundraiser for The Michigan Urology Center. Over the
years, we have raised $250K for the U-M Prostate Cancer Research Program
with our goal of curing this insidious disease. The Men's Event is, by
the very nature and professional stature of its attendees, a high-profile
event. The opportunity for a prestige group of men to enjoy an evening
among their peers in an upscale dinner setting has been an irresistible
draw to past events. The cost of attending The Men's Event is $500, and
includes an unlimited bar and hors d'oeuvres, a prime steak dinner, gift
certificates, door prizes and a grand prize. Door prizes include items
such as men's fashions, airline tickets, golf outings, private box seats
to sporting events, dining certificates, skis and golf clubs.
The Sixth Annual Men's Event, sponsored by the DaimlerChrysler Corporation
Fund, is dedicated to raising prostate cancer awareness and education.
Each attendee takes home information on prostate cancer and the University
of Michigan’s Prostate Cancer Program. An Informal session with
our physicians is also held prior to the cocktail hour for individuals
interested in learning more about our current research and advances.
The closing of The Palm Restaurant has required “The Men’s
Event” to find a new partner.
Our new host will be Flemings Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar in Birmingham,
MI Flemings is an upscale national steakhouse with 42 locations across
the U.S. committed to stylish and contemporary dining in a warm and inviting
setting.
We are confident that “The Men’s Event” will continue
to be our traditional evening of fabulous food, fine wine and good fellowship.
