The Inovo Institute is the not-for-profit educational division of The Inovo Group LLC. Larry Schmitt, President, has developed and delivered the backbone of the Fellowship curriculum, now converted in a series of 17 on-line modules. These modules address the art and science of innovation. Additionally, the Fellows are utilizing Inovo's innovation methodology to identify and validate their ideas.

KARL STORZ, a global leader in medical devices and instruments, became our first external donor by funding one of the Fellows for the 2008/2009 year.

MDRS, LLC is a global regulatory and clinical affairs consulting firm located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The firm's consulting team includes regulatory, clinical affairs, engineering and quality systems experts with more than 95 years combined experience developing and commercializing medical device, pharmaceutical and combination products. MDRS, LLC provides comprehensive FDA cGMP/QSR, IDE, IND, 510(k), PMA and EU CE mark regulatory services to UM-MIC inventors and clinicians.

The Nurture division of Steelcase delivered "observation" and ethnography training to the Fellows. The Medical Innovation Center also hosted Nurture for a week while they observed several intensive care units at the University Hospital.

Validation Compliance Institute LLC provides regulatory guidance to inventors and has co-created a series of on-line modules about regulatory issues related to medical devices.
