Faculty Scholars Program


Faculty Scholars attend 11 full-day sessions held monthly on a Friday from September-June. Community and academic faculty affiliated with University of Michigan Integrative Medicine teach the sessions. Each monthly session highlights prevalent complementary, alternative and integrative approaches to particular health problems and issues. All sessions include didactic explanations of CAM, hands-on demonstrations and live patient stories, nutrition information and healthy eating, experiential practices, exploration of innovative methods to teach CAM, nuts and bolts of effective curriculum and research development, and time for small group sharing and reflection. In addition, an extra full day is offered to current participants to meet with all previous faculty almuni for additional learning and networking purposes.

Scholars receive extensive reading and resource information. During the academic year, Scholars develop an educational, research or clinical service application project that they intend to implement and receive feedback from UMIM program faculty and their interdisciplinary colleagues.
