SUBJECT: 2008-09 Health System Staff Salary Program
With the Regent's approval on June 19, 2008 of the Faculty and Staff salary program guidelines, in a step forward in administrative integration, we are pleased to announce a 3% salary program for our Health System staff who are classified in the Universitiy's Career Family Classification System. Please utilize these guidelines to initiate decision making related to your department's salary program.
Components of the program include:
- An individual increase may consist of (1) an adjustment to base salary, (2) a one-time Salary Supplement, or (3) a combination of base salary adjustment and ont-time Salary Supplement. The combination of base salary and/or Salary Supplement increases cannot exceed 6%.
- Program distribution averages for exempt staff in the Professional or Managerial job roles may not exceed non-exempt staff in a Professional job role. Department Administrator's salary adjustment should not exceed the department average for their staff members.
- Performance evaluations must be done annually for all staff as part of our performance management process. The forms for UMHS staff and management are available on-line at: http://www.med.umich.edu/umhshr/supervisor/performance-planning.html
