With the Regent's approval of the FY 10 budget, we write to announce the plans for this year's salary program for Health System faculty (excluding LEO faculty) and staff who are classified in the University's Career Family Classification System. Based on the current economic climate and our continued efforts to achieve greater alignment between our revenue and expenses, our approach to this year's salary program has been significantly modified as it relates to the method of delivery and eligibility. Please utilize these guidelines to initiate decision making related to your department's salary program.
Components of the program include:
- An individual allocation of a one-time Salary Supplement of $900 (pre-tax) pro-rated to appointment fraction, for those faculty whose Projected Salary and staff whose annual full time rate is less than $80,000 (up to and including $79,999.99) as of 6/30/09, who are active on the payroll as of 9/1/09, and meet all other eligibility criteria as provided in the details.
- Performance evaluations must be done annually for all faculty and staff as part of our performance managemenr process. The forms for UMHS staff and management are available on-line at: http://www.med.umich.edu/umhshr/supervisor/performance-planning.html
We wish to express our appreciation to each of you for your leadership during this challenging year. Your contributions to the expense reduction efforts made a difference and will continue to be necessary during the upcoming year. Thank you!
