Payroll & Timekeeping

Can I receive my paycheck early?

No, paychecks are not released prior to payday. Employees may request a "vacation pay advance" if scheduled for vacation time or PTO. Employees must be scheduled off a minimum of ten days in order to receive a vacation pay advance. Employees in job families covered by a labor agreement should refer to their agreement to determine the minimum time required off in order to request a vacation pay advance.

Deductions will be made from the employee’s check(s) upon their return from vacation/PTO. Employees paid monthly will receive one deduction from their next monthly paycheck. Employees paid biweekly will receive two deductions from their next two paychecks.

How much time off do I get for pregnancy?

For employees covered by the "Paid Time Off" (PTO) Program

If you are covered by the "Paid Time Off" (PTO) program, you will exhaust the balance in your PTO bank once your health care provider restricts you from working. Once your PTO bank is exhausted, and you have been employed for two or more years (in a regular job(s), and your health care provider continues to restrict you from working, you will begin to exhaust time from your "extended sick time" bank. You will continue to use "extended sick time" until your health care provider releases you from care and allows you to return to work, usually six to eight weeks post partum.

Once your health care provider has released you to return to work, you can no longer use "extended sick time". You can elect to go on an unpaid childcare leave of absence or return to work.

If you have not been employed for at least two years (in a regular job(s), you are not eligible for "extended sick time. You will exhaust your PTO bank and then be placed on an unpaid medical and/or childcare leave of absence.

For employees covered by "Sick Time/Vacation Time Programs

If the Sick Time/Vacation Time programs cover you, you will exhaust your sick time bank first. If employed for two or more years you will begin to exhaust time from your "extended sick time" bank until your health care provider releases you from care and allows you to return to work, usually six to eight weeks post-partum.

Once your health care provider has released you to return to work, you can no longer use "extended sick time". You can elect to go on an unpaid childcare leave of absence or return to work. If you elect to take an unpaid childcare leave of absence, all vacation time will be exhausted prior to beginning the leave of absence.

If you have not been employed for at least two years (in a regular job(s), you are not eligible for "extended sick time". You will exhaust your sick time and/or vacation time and then be placed on an unpaid medical and/or childcare leave of absence.
