UroMentorThe UroMentor has a host of practice modules and patient profiles that can be used to practice safe endo-urology (Cystoscopy and Uteroscopy) procedures. Features include,

  • Simulation of cystoscopy and ureteroscopy procedures.
  • Use of both flexible and rigid scopes.
  • Performance of real-time fluoroscopy with simulation of C-arm control.
  • Identification of patient anatomy and correct tool insertion through changing of C-arm positioning.
  • Viewing of fluoroscopy image with injection of contrast agent
The UroMentor has an additional PERC Mentor attachment towards the rear of the machine. Prime features of the PERC Mentor include,
  • Hand-eye coordination
  • Processing of 2D fluoroscopic radiographic imaging into 3D visualization of anatomies
  • Fluoroscopy image manipulation
  • Tools and guide wire manipulation
  • C-arm manipulation for obtaining ideal access
  • Use of needles of varying sizes and lengths

Training skills on the UROMentor are organized into,

  • Practice Hall Skills
    • Level 1 and Level 2 (Training basic grasping and cystoscope handling)
  • Basic Tasks
    • Tasks 1 through 10 (Tasks which have a specific requirement, that would help the trainee is performing a full procedure) Example: "Use a rigid cystoscope and Bentson 0.038 guide wire to catherize the right ureteral orifice"
  • Free Training Excercises
    • Stone Manipulation
    • Strictures

Training modlues can be custom built as a combination of cases. Tracking of individual user usage statistics and performance is possible. Click here for the basic tutorial.
