The Clinical Simulation Center actively supports numerous development and research projects specific to the use of low, medium, and high fidelity simulation scenarios in support of education in the healthcare professionals. Research is ongoing and includes the areas of instructional design, curriculum development, assessment, and simulator development and validation across a variety of learner levels and disciplines. Faculty and clinical researchers use UMCSC facilities and resources to conduct scientific and outcomes related research that drive the advancement of best practices in simulation-based education. The center also supports research and development projects specific to engineering, computer science, and biomedical science, and simulation-based education. For more information about the support UMCSC can provide for research and development, please email Dr. Deborah Rooney (Director of Education and Research, CSC and Chair, CSC Research Committee).
