Research Support
The clinical simulation center actively supports numerous research and development projects specific to the use of low, medium, and high fidelity simulation scenarios in support of education in the health professions. Research is ongoing and includes the disciplines of instructional design, curriculum development, academic medicine, surgery, pediatric medicine, emergency medicine, internal medicine, anesthesiology, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, otolaryngology, radiology, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Faculty and clinical researchers use UMCSC facilities and resources to conduct scientific and outcomes related research that drive the advancement of clinical simulation in the education and training of health professionals. The center also supports research and development projects specific to engineering, computer science, and biomedical science. For more information about the support UMCSC can provide for research and development, please email Dr. Patricia Mullan (Chair, CSC Research Committee) or Dr. Pamela Andreatta (Director, Clinical Simulation Center).
