Surgery

The Comprehensive Gender Services Program is unique in the surgical services it offers clients. The Program draws upon the full surgical resources of the Health System to provide state of the art surgical care.

Available surgeries:

Male-to-Female:
Tracheal Shave
Breast Augmentation
Facial Feminization
Genital Reconstruction (using the one-step Amsterdam procedure)

Female-to-Male:
Hysterectomy
Chest Reconstruction
Metoidioplasty
Radial Forearm Free Flaps
Pedicled Flaps


Surgeons

William Kuzon, Jr. MD, Associate Professor, Section Head, Plastic Surgery Section, Department of Surgery, University of Michigan Health System

William Kuzon, Jr., MD, PhD is an Associate Professor, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for the University of Michigan Health System and lead surgeon for the Comprehensive Gender Services Program. He provides surgical services for program participants including gender reassignment surgery and other appropriate ancillary surgical procedures. Dr. Kuzon is a Diplomate, American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Plastic Surgery.


Dana Ohl, MD, Associate Professor, Urology, Department of Surgery, University of Michigan Health System

Dana Ohl, MD is an Associate Professor of Surgery, Urology Section for the University of Michigan Health System. Dr. Ohl provides urologic surgical services for program participants and acts as a consultant for general urologic problems. Dr. Ohl is a Diplomate, American Board of Urology.


John F. Randolph, Jr., M.D. Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Michigan Health System

Dr. Randolph has been the Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology since 1988. He earned his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati in 1980 and completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of Michigan in 1984. He received training in his subspecialty, Reproductive Endocrinology, at the University of Connecticut in 1986. He joined the faculty of the University of Michigan in 1986. Dr. Randolph is Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
