Mental Health Care

The Comprehensive Gender Services Program is committed to providing mental health care based on individual need. It is an integral part of the services provided during the transgender journey. Mental health: offers support during transition; facilitation of first and second opinions required by World Professional Association for Transgender Health, Inc; and assistance with educating family and children.

A team of mental health professionals (e.g., Ph.D., MSW, DCSW and LLP) with comprehensive and diverse backgrounds of clinical skills, including specialty training in transgender issues, provide mental health care. All providers are independent affiliates of the CGSP and accept a variety of insurance plans.

Referrals for mental health care are made to UMHS-CGSP Affiliates only.
