UNOS
Sample of Recipient Registry

All transplant centers and organ procurement organizations in the United States are part of the OPTN and are members of UNOS (the United Network for Organ Sharing). UNOS compiles the waiting list.

UNOS makes sure that organs are distributed fairly, and that organ distribution is not affected by race, gender, religion, or any other non-medical factor such as wealth, fame, or political power. To be as fair as possible, kidneys are distributed on a point system based on how well you match the kidney and your time spent on the list.
