Mission Statement
Therapaws of Michigan, canine-assisted therapy program, is dedicated to promoting and fostering the human-animal bond in therapeutic and education settings.

In the spirit of this mission, individual owner/dog teams visit resident in health care facilities, providing social, emotional, and physical benefits.

A strict screening protocol assures the selection of well-mannered dogs of sound temperament and good health.

How does Therapaws work?

At RadiologyIndividual owner/dog teams are assigned to nursing homes, hospitals, and other care facilities for scheduled visits.

Patients are seen in their rooms, in physical and occupational therapy rooms, in physical and occupational therapy clinics, waiting rooms, and other settings. Emphasis is placed on one-on-one interaction with the dog who becomes a bridge for communication, motivation, encouragement, and empathy.
