Specialized Workforce for Acute Transport
Hours of Operation:
- SWAT RN's - 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. Monday - Friday & 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Saturday (no RN's on Sundays)
- SWAT Paramedics 24/7 (including Holiday's)
The SWAT Team will provide safe transport of the both Adult & Peds ICU and step down /class 1 patient (road trips) to diagnostic procedural areas. The patients will receive continuous monitoring and treatment throughout the transport and procedure.
The SWAT Nurse can also provide physician-ordered procedural sedation including pre- and post- procedure assessment and monitoring.
The SWAT Paramedic can provide transport, monitoring / care of IMC patients that meet a "class1" status for both adults and pediatrics, including such patients with LVAD's, PCA's, external pacers, etc... Upon request / availability, Paramedics may also assist the bedside ICU nurse with the transport of critical patients to procedures / procedure areas.
