



- Survival Flight staffs with RN/RN or RN/MD crew configurations and is directed by University of Michigan Emergency Medicine Attending physicians.
- The Survival Flight nursing staff is comprised of 20 full-time RN's dedicated to patient transport. Non-clinical time is applied to lecturing, teaching, assisting on other units, and various public relations activities. For duties and qualifications, click here.
- Essential support staff include seven communications specialists, nine pilots and four mechanics--all trained to deliver the safest, most effective emergency medical transport service possible.
- When specialized care, such as Extracorporeal life support (ELS), neonatology or pediatric cardiology is required, physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists from those specialties accompany the Survival Flight team.
- Second, third and fourth year Emergency Medicine residents fly along as a crew member during their training.
