Safety Management Services is the occupational safety and health department for the Hospitals and Health Centers, both on and off site.

We advise UMHHC leadership on safety issues, educate managers about how to help employees do their jobs safely, and interpret safety requirements to determine their applicability to the institution.

Our areas of coverage include: accident investigation, construction safety, emergency preparedness, ergonomics, fire safety, hazardous chemicals and waste, health physics/radiation safety, injury prevention programs, regulated medical waste, regulatory compliance, respiratory protection, safety training and education programs.
