Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit

Welcome to the Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a 15 bed unit on the south side of the of the 4th floor intensive care area. Our patient population comes from two different services. The Neuro surgical group, which is split up into two services SNAP and SNAK. The primary ventilated patients from these services are Aneurysm Clippings, Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH), Intracranial Hemorrhage (ICH), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), spinal cord injuries and different types of epilepsy surgeries. The other service is the medical section of our unit and it is the Neurology service (Department of Neurology) . Their patient population consists of Guillian Barre (GB), Myasthenia Gravis (MG), acute and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, status epileptics, strokes and other types of neuromuscular diseases.
