Elderly Eviction Prevention

Preventing homelessness among seniors who live in rental properties is the major goal of the Elderly Eviction Prevention program. Because of physical frailties, memory disorders or mental illness, elderly renters may forget to pay bills, be unable to keep their apartments clean or have other difficulties that violate lease agreements. The EEP coordinator chairs two task forces that work on special concerns of seniors and are made up of social workers, lawyers, housing community representatives and government officials.
