Main Entrance   Our department is a full service, 24 hour, Public Safety Department.   We are one of three divisions of the University of Michigan Department of Public Safety.   Our Public Safety Officers duties include:   conducting criminal investigations, providing motorist assistance, and promoting patient's, visitor's, and staff's safety through a variety of services and programs.   We provide security escorts, patrols of University Medical Center buildings, access control, fire systems monitoring, security systems monitoring, and respond to calls of potential violence.   We sponsor innovative loss prevention programs through-out the hospital community. Officers are constantly receiving training   to keep us current in all aspects of healthcare security. We strive to be a leader in the healthcare security profession. Our mission/goals are centered around providing quality customer services while maintaining a safe environment for our patients, families, and staff.
