Report Concerns

Any member of our workforce, including faculty, staff, students and volunteers, who suspects a violation of University or UMHS policies or procedures, or who suspects a breach in privacy or security policies, should report it according to the following:

Report your concern to your supervisor first, if possible.

A concerned employee should first inform his or her supervisor of the situation. Some issues may ultimately be shared with the manager, the unit, the Integrated Revenue Cycle Compliance & Education office or a UMHS compliance officer.

Report your concern to a higher compliance authority.

If an employee is uncomfortable with reporting concerns to his or her supervisor, or if a previously reported issue has not been resolved, the employee should report the situation to a higher compliance authority by one of the following methods:

  1. Call the Professional Billing office at 734-615-4037.
  2. Contact the compliance officers collectively by e-mailing your concern to compliance-group@med.umich.edu.
  3. Call the University of Michigan Compliance Hotline at 866-990-0111
  4. Submit a report online
