The Providence Cancer Institute's
Michael and Rose Assarian Cancer Center
reaches beyond traditional outpatient
cancer care by combing cutting-edge technology
with methods for healing the mind, body
and spirit – right in Novi! The Center
incorporates input from patients, caregivers,
clergy members, mental health professionals,
physicians and others to create a holistic
and inclusive program that addresses
patients' physical, emotional and spiritual
needs. The Assarian Cancer Center features:
- One CT simulator and one accelerator
for radiation oncology patients
- State-of-the-art radiation treatments including IMRT
- Prostate implant program
- 8 separated infusion cubicles for
chemotherapy treatment
- Special architectural structures to offer a calming refuge (the Reflection Space and Soulscape)
- The Karen M. Sinelli Arts Studio
and ceramics workshop where patients
use creative media to work through
the emotions surrounding their illness
- Art gallery featuring the work of cancer patients and those touched by cancer
- Science center offering information modules on cancer
- Research library offering books and pamphlets on cancer-related subjects
- External Beam brachytherapy including
IMRT
- High Dose Brachytherapy
- Prostate Seed
