- Double
Contrast Upright Esophagram
- Turn
patient prone and lower the table.
- Roll
patient away from you (to the left). Stop in supine position.
- Supine
Gastric “Safety Shot.”
- Roll
towards you one complete rotation and repeat #4, if not coated.
- Supine
AP magnification shot of gastric antrum and
body.
- Turn
patient LPO.
- Greater
Curvature and distal antrum air-filled shot.
- Turn
patient RPO while imaging the flow across the body (from greater to lesser
curvature).
- Turn
patient Right Lateral.
- Magnified
Double Contrast fundus.
- De-Magnified
shot of fundus and bulb (single contrast).
- Roll
patient back into LPO.
- Air-filled
bulb and antrum shot.
- Upright
air filled bulb in LPO. (Done if #12 is not adequate).
- OPTIONAL
(Cohan): LPO and RPO upright to show air-filled fundus.
- Return
patient to prone position.
- Prone Esophagram (RAO).
- Compression
of distal
stomach and bulb (prone).
- Check
for Reflux
