Why Choose Us?

The U-M Department of Radiology has provided high-quality medical care since 1913. We are proud to be part of a leading academic medical center that is dedicated to a mission of excellence in patient care, education and research.

Patient Care

Every day we strive to deliver the right care at the right time in a way that leverages our expertise and demonstrates our patient-centered philosophy. We perform more than 500,000 examinations annually, provide imaging services at numerous hospitals and clinics in Ann Arbor and surrounding areas, administer image-guided interventions at University Hospital and the U-M Cardiovascular Center, and offer services at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System.

As part of one of the best medical schools in the country, it is our privilege and obligation to train future generations of health care professionals, and collaborate with other scientists and physicians in our local, national and global medical communities. Along with the responsibility for teaching comes the responsibility for learning; we emphasize continued learning for all team members.

Our researchers want to advance the field of radiology. That's why their investigations are designed to discover new information about health, disease pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment, teaching methods and efficient health care delivery. When it comes to imaging services and radiology research and education, the University of Michigan is home to the leaders and best.
