Enlarged Cervical Lymph Nodes

Left and Right Images: Longitudinal sonograms of the neck demonstrates relatively hypoechoic ovoid masses representing enlarged lymph nodes (yellow shade).
Left and Right Images: Longitudinal power Doppler images shows increased vascularity of the enlarged lymph nodes.  This is non-specific and could represent inflammation or infiltrative disease.

Left Image: Transverse sonogram of the neck demonstrates heterogeneity of an enlarged lymph node worrisome for an infiltrative lesion.

Right Image: Doppler imaging shows a pulsatile arterial waveform.

This patient has a history of squamous cell cancer of the head/neck. The enlarged lymph nodes proved to be metastatic.
