Emergency: Residency

The objectives of the initial emergency radiology rotation are to provide a comprehensive introductory experience to emergency radiology, consisting of two - four week rotation on the Emergency Radiology service during the 1 st year of radiology residency during the routine work hours.

After passing the Radiology Department Oral Competency Examination for 1700 duty the resident will be assigned to two further rotations. The subsequent rotations include: 1) rotation on the Emergency Radiology service during the week-end and holiday days and 2) a night float rotation for 7-14 days on the Emergency Radiology service. During these rotations the resident will be exposed to the plain film imaging of the Emergency Department patient. In addition, off-hours there will be exposure to fluoroscopic urgent cases from both the Emergency Department and Inpatient populations and urgent nuclear medicine studies.
