Radiology Receives Safety Leadership Award

Each year, the Safety Leadership Award is presented to departments who have demonstrated a continued commitment to achieving a safe working environment through safety-related initiatives. Radiology has been selected to receive this award for the variety of ergonomic projects it has been involved with to help reduce injuries to staff caused by ergonomic risk factors. For example, implementing training for staff in radiology reading rooms and installing ceiling lifts in various locations to reduce risks caused by patient handling. In addition, Radiology was heavily involved in the MR safety initiative to prevent accidents and injuries to patients and staff including training, education, redesign, and safety signage.
