Michigan Health Care Resources
In the state of Michigan, we are fortunate to have several organizations that specialize in health care quality and safety.
MPRO
MPRO specializes in health care quality improvement and patient safety programs, and has extensive experience in Medicare and Medicaid programs, managed care operations, research methods and data analysis.
Michigan Department of Community Health
MDCH is responsible for health policy and management of Michigan's publicly funded health systems.
Michigan Health & Hospital Association
The MHA is composed of hospitals and health systems, and other organizations involved in health care. MHA represents these groups at the national, state and regional levels. MHA’s report, “A Decade of Quality and Efficiency Improvements at Michigan Hospitals,” shows that Michigan hospital costs are lower than other hospitals across the nation; the report includes information about efficiency improvements and quality of care.
Michigan Health and Safety Coalition
The MH&SC is a collaborative quality improvement effort focused on improving patient safety in Michigan. The Coalition’s membership includes representatives from health care plans, health care providers, and employer and union groups.
Michigan State Medical Society
The Michigan State Medical Society promotes a health care environment that supports physicians in caring for and enhancing the health of Michigan citizens through science, quality and ethics in the practice of medicine.
Michigan Surgical Quality Collaborative
To improve the quality of care for patients undergoing general and vascular surgery, the University of Michigan and 33 other hospitals in Michigan that perform such surgery will submit patient surgical outcomes data to the American College of Surgeons National Surgery Quality Improvement Program and analyze results. Sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
