Dr.
Bronowski received his Ph.D. from the Department of Psychology
at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow in 1999. Dr Bronowski
is a clinical psychologist and an academic in the IV Psychiatric
Department of the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology
in Warsaw, Poland.
His research interests are connected with
psychosocial aspects of alcohol addiction. In accordance
with his interests, Dr. Bronowski has dealt with such problems
as alcohol, drugs, and tobacco consumption among pregnant
women (pro- and retrospective research), factors involved
in undertaking treatment and abstinence maintenance by patients
who had suffered from an alcohol psychosis (follow up study)
and issues related to AA Community (factors determining
the decision to accept the AA offer by addicts who were
patients of the psychiatric ward, the structure of values,
and the system of social support among AA Community members).
Dr. Bronowski is an author of several publications related
to the problem of addictions.
