Dr.
Goldstein is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the clinical-research
fellowship program through the Department of Psychiatry at
the University of Michigan and is conducting her research
at the U of M Addiction Research Center (UMARC). She received
her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from York University in Toronto
and completed her predoctoral internship at the Brown University
Clinical Psychology Training Consortium. As a graduate student,
Dr. Goldstein conducted research on alcohol outcome expectancies
and the impact of external and internal stimuli on alcohol-related
cognitions in young adults. More recently, her research has
focused on the development and evaluation of brief, motivation-based
interventions for adolescent alcohol use. Other current interests
include integrated interventions, comorbidity between substance
use and psychiatric diagnoses, and the cognitive and motivational
processes that contribute to changes in substance use.
