Anne Buu, Ph.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Anne Buu is a Research Assistant Professor in the Substance Abuse Section, Department of Psychiatry, at the University of Michigan. Her research interests include latent variable modeling, longitudinal data analysis, and assessment of childhood risk for alcoholism and substance abuse. She is currently a co-investigator on three projects: "Family Study of Risk for Alcoholism over the Life Course" (funded by NIAAA), "Neurocognitive Risk for Alcoholism into Adulthood" (funded by NIAAA), and "Neurocognitive Risks & Consequences of Smoking" (funded by NIDA). Dr. Buu has a Ph.D. in Statistics from University of Florida (ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 10 statistics programs) and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Indiana University at Bloomington. She is the Director of Data Management Unit of the Michigan Longitudinal Study and the study statistician. She is also one of the methodologists in the NIDA funded Methodology Center at the Pennsylvania State University.
