Usage Statistics
Public Relations and Marketing Communication web usage reports present total page views and total user sessions for the entire site as well as the number of page views for selected maintained sections or a specific URL. Page views are used for reporting as a more accurate measurement than hits. Hits will count every element on a page when it is opened, such as lines and graphics, where page views count the actual page once it is opened.
In 2006, the entire U-M Health System Web site had nearly 135 million page views, a 58 percent increase over 2005 and there were more than 34 million user sessions, a 36 percent increase over the previous year.
All reports are MS Excel files, and are only viewable by internal users. If you are visiting the site externally and need web usage reports please call 734-764-2220 for assistance.
