Referring Physician Advisory Council
The University of Michigan Health System established the Referring Physician Advisory Council to promote communication and facilitate planning between U-M Health System faculty and physicians who refer to the U-M Health System. The Advisory Council provides a forum for referring physicians' input regarding such issues as methods for responding to the changing health care environment.
Membership terms are for three years and the Council meets approximately every 14 months in Ann Arbor. The Council is chaired by the Chief of Clinical Affairs and coordinated by the Department of Public Relations and Marketing Communications.
Objectives:
- To enhance two-way communication for optimum planning with U-M Health System referring physicians.
- To identify current UMHS referring physician services and informational needs.
- To alert UMHS faculty and staff to the changing needs of referring physicians.
