The University of Michigan Health System offers the following services and resources to its referring physicians and health care professionals:
Colleagues in Care Newsletter – A quarterly publication for physicians that highlights trends in the practice of medicine at the University of Michigan.
Consult Request Guidelines –
A Web site developed by U-M Health System faculty and clinical departments which contains suggested patient management and test guidelines for referring physicians to consider prior to scheduling a U-M Health System clinic visit.
M-LINE – Toll-free service for health care professionals
M-CALL – Referral coordination service for Integrated Health Associates (IHA)
M NET – U-M Health System fax network for medical information.
MarketScope – U-M Health System physician database containing comprehensive information on Michigan and Northern Ohio physicians
Referring Physician Advisory Council – Forum for referring physician input and feedback.
Referring Physician Satisfaction Survey – A biennial statewide referring physician satisfaction survey. The objective is to identify and measure current attitudes with respect to ability to refer to and communicate with U-M Health System physicians across the patient continuum of care.
In March 2005 the U-M Health System physician and consumer call center was the first academic medical center in the nation to receive certification as a Center of Excellence by BenchmarkPortal.
