Physician Referral
The Physician Referral Service is staffed by specially trained referral coordinators who provide UMHS information to consumers who are new to the area, changed health coverage, would like to change primary care physician, want a second opinion, or need information on choosing the right physician to accommodate their needs.
At the coordinators' fingertips is a continually updated primary care provider database containing information on all of the University of Michigan primary care providers and health centers. Written information on UMHS primary care physicians and health centers that include appointment confirmation is promptly mailed to each caller.
Coordinators are available to answer calls Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
