HELP!
HELP! BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! For the last six years we have had such
a fantastic response to our request for valentines
that we would like to invite you to participate.
The Valentine’s
Day Project of distributing valentines to pediatric patients
at the University of Michigan
Health System began in 1998 when 12,658 valentines were collected and distributed
to 316 pediatric inpatients and outpatients. The project has grown
tremendously! Would you believe? Last year by including our adult
inpatient and outpatient populations as well as motor meals we
distributed 141,893 valentines, place mats, tray favors, etc. to
3,167 individuals.
LET’S INCREASE OUR VALENTINE NUMBERS THIS YEAR! It would
be soooo wonderful if we could extend the valentine project to
other pediatric populations and have the valentine envelopes
and gift bags filled with valentines. As children are signing
valentines for classmates, could they sign (first name only)
a few extra for our patients. Employees, youth, adults, schools,
churches, and community organizations are also welcome to participate.
For your reference
and distribution, fliers and a donor
form are availabale listing
additional valentine projects plus more details
regarding delivery. Please note that there are fliers for two valentine
programs – Cancer
Center Valentine’s Day Gift Bags for 325 adult cancer patients and Valentines and More Valentines
Envelopes for 3,000 adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients
at the University of Michigan Health System. You’ll notice
that this year we won’t be collecting decorated shoeboxes
due to space limitations but will be packaging in gift bags and
large envelopes. Please help us spread the word! Happy Valentine’s
Day!
If your area has special holiday gift ideas and
you would like them displayed on this page, please send updates
to csjessie@umich.edu.
