The Test of Infant Motor Performance: From Research to Practice
Course Description:
This two-day intermediate level workshop is designed for physical therapists and occupational therapists working with infants under 5 months of age. Participants will gain working knowledge of the Test of Infant Motor Performance (TIMP), a new test of functional motor behavior in infants from 34 weeks post-menstrual age through 4 months past term.
The TIMP can be used both in special care nursery settings and in early intervention programs, facilitating communication among caregivers in different settings. TIMP items are related to demands for movement placed on infants during daily life interactions. Thus the test is an assessment of the posture and movement skills needed by infants for daily life activities.
