One of the hallmarks of PIBS is the close working relationship shared by our students and staff—from before our scientists-in-training arrive on campus until long after they have left. Our team is comprised of dedicated professionals who are committed to supporting students in every aspect of their career development.
Lori Isom, Ph.D, Professor of Pharmacology, Professor of Molecular and Integrative Physiology, Director of PIBS, Assistant Dean for Recruitment and Precandidate Graduate Education
As the director of PIBS, Lori is involved in all aspects of the program, from recruiting and admissions, and securing funding for students, to counseling and career development. She continuously evaluates and seeks out ways to improve PIBS through the curriculum,interaction with faculty and the greater university, and expanding the degree-granting program offerings. Students can expect to get to know Lori very well.

Lisa Gubaci, Assistant Director
Lisa oversees all aspects of our operations in PIBS and across all of Graduate and Postdoctoral Programs. She's our number one expert for administrative questions.
Tiffany Porties, Director of Recruitment
By now you may have already met Tiffany. She is the face of PIBS at on- and off-campus informational events. She is responsible for overall recruitment activities and is also the PIBS liaison with the Association of Multicultural Scientists student organization.
Michelle Melis, Director of Student Life
Michelle works closely with Rackham Graduate School to coordinate admissions and classes for PIBS. She'll be your cruise director from the moment you step on campus. Michelle also performs office financial functions, including accounting and student funding and financial records.
Lisa Fletcher, Digital Media and Recruitment Coordinator
Lisa works directly with Tiffany in recruitment efforts on the road, on campus and through digital media. She also serves as web developer for Graduate and Postdoctoral Programs.
Josh Daniels, Student Services Assistant
Josh D. is our front man. He's the first person you'll see when you walk in the door, and the first comforting voice you'll hear on the phone. Josh manages student data and communications.
Josh Meisler, Graduate and Postdoctoral Programs Coordinator
Josh M. supports the Graduate and Postdoctoral Programs team through PIBS recruitment and admissions, and coordinates all functions of the Office of Postdoctoral Studies.
