New Students
Stipend
You will receive your first monthly stipend check at the end of the first month of your lab rotation (July or September). Subsequent stipend payments occur at the end of the month, you will receive a payment schedule at orientation. You may request direct deposit for your stipend payments if you have set up a bank account in Ann Arbor and filed the appropriate paperwork (provided at orientation).
PIBS can supply stipend/income verification letters for housing companies that require that information. Please contact the PIBS office if your housing agent requests verification.
Benefits
GradCare is administered by BCN Service Company and is available only to U-M graduate students and their eligible dependents. Further information is available from the UM Benefits Office.
