Gregory Eschenauer PharmD (gregorye@umich.edu) is a pharmacy practice resident at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers. He was born in Cleveland but obtained his PharmD degree at Butler University in Indianapolis. His educational interests include Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, and Psychiatry. He hopes to obtain a general clinical position at a big city Hospital after completing his residency, perhaps on the East coast. His hobbies basically include all sports, music, and traveling anywhere. His research project this year will focus on Coronary Heart Disease Risk Factors in Patients admitted to the Adult General Psychiatric Inpatient Unit at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers.

Susan Gordon PharmD (susagord@umich.edu) was born and raised in the small town of Rushville, Indiana. She completed her PharmD degree in 2004 from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Susan is currently a Pharmacy Practice Resident at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers. Her practice interests include Oncology, Infectious Disease, and Internal Medicine. In her free time, Susan enjoys reading works by Kurt Vonnegut, Nicholas Sparks, David Sedaris, and all the Harry Potter books, writing in her journal, spending time with her friends, and last but certainly not least, shopping.

Shu-Wen (Wendy) Lin PharmD (shulin@umich.edu) is a second-year Specialty Pharmacy Resident in Infectious Disease at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers. Wendy is a native of Taiwan. She received her BS degree in Pharmacy and a MS degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at National Taiwan University where she was also employed. She then moved to work with Abbott Laboratories in Taiwan branch for 2 years. In order to pursue additional advanced clinical training, Wendy left her family in 2000 for Purdue University where she completed her PharmD in 2003. She then finished a Pharmacy Practice residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers in June 2004. Because Wendy loves Ann Arbor so much (including the winter-of course), so she decided to stay on board at U of M for one more year. This year’s Wendy’s research project is to evaluate Pharmacist interventions on staphylococcal bacteremia antimicrobial regimens. Her review paper is on Dalbavancin, a novel glycopeptide antimicrobial agent. In her spare time, Wendy enjoys backpacking, swimming, and watching international movies. Upon completion of her Specialty Residency in June 2005, Wendy and her husband plan to go on a hiking tour in Nepal.

Rima Mohammad PharmD (rimam@umich.edu) is a PharmD graduate from the University of Cincinnati, her hometown (or practically since she was raised there most of her life). She was born in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates but moved here when she was 5 years old. She makes a point to say she is an Ohioan, yet she is going through the transition of becoming a Michigan fan (hasn’t happened yet, but it’s an Ohio thing). She didn’t have to go far to come to Michigan but being from the “South,” she has to adjust to the weather a bit. She is currently doing a Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and she is definitely looking forward and excited to see all the things the program has to offer. Other than pharmacy, Rima does have a huge interest in the arts since she has been thinking about it as a future career. She is very happy and proud of Pharmacy, yet fashion design might be something to consider and her mission could be to make those plain lab coats more stylish. As for Rima’s future plans, she is hoping to be someday involved in teaching future Pharmacists and be active in the advancement of Pharmacy through professional organizations.

Lisa Nguyen PharmD (lisanguy@umich.edu) is a native of Seattle, Washington. Lisa graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and worked as a Molecular Biologist and Parasitologist at an Infectious Disease research laboratory. She then resumed her education at the University of Washington, from which she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2004. Desiring to be adventurous and to live closer to family members in Michigan, Lisa moved far away from her hometown to pursue her Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Michigan. Her practice interests include Infectious Diseases and Ambulatory Care. Lisa is considering pursuing a Specialty Residency after completion of her Pharmacy Practice Residency.

Aline Saad PharmD (alines@umich.edu) was born in Lebanon. After she graduated from the American University of Beirut (AUB) with a Bachelor Degree of Science in Biology in 1999, Aline moved to the United States with her husband. She then pursued her PharmD degree at the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Detroit, Michigan and graduated in 2004. Aline is currently a Pharmacy Practice Resident at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers. Following completion of her current residency, she plans to pursue a Specialty Residency. Her practice interests include Infectious Disease and Pediatrics. When not working (hard), Aline enjoys the company of her 3 year-old son and her husband. Her other interests include reading Arabic and French literature, cooking, bicycling, dancing and taking care of people around her.
