The University of Michigan Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs strive to prepare students from diverse backgrounds for their chosen medical careers. The programs in GME provide residents with the knowledge, skills and values that serve as the basis for the highest quality clinical practice, lifelong learning, scholarly research and community service. Educational sites for our GME programs include the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers, affiliated hospitals, and a broad variety of community-based clinical teaching sites. GME at the University of Michigan has 74 accredited programs.
The Department of Pediatrics offers a wide range of fellowship programs for those who have completed their residency training in pediatrics. Fellowship training in the pediatric specialties is generally a three-year program and is intended for those pursuing academic careers.
