Locations
Clinical Facilities
The Pediatric Multispecialty Clinic, located on the first floor of C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in the Taubman Center, is the primary home for all pediatric specialty clinics except Cardiology and Hematology/Oncology. Because multiple clinics are running at the same time, patients are often able to see different specialists during the same visit, as evidenced by the multidisciplinary Developmental Assessment clinic and the Pediatric Ventilator clinic. The only Pediatric Liver Transplant program in the State of Michigan, as well as the Renal Transplant program, is also located in this facility. The clinic has an onsite Pediatric Infusion and Treatment area staffed by experienced pediatric nurses, where patients can receive diagnostic testing and the latest infusion therapies for chronic illness in a child oriented, child focused atmosphere.
Our faculty members also staff various specialty clinics, such as Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, and Neurology, throughout the State of Michigan and northern Ohio. These locations include Grand Blanc, Kalamazoo, Jackson, Traverse City, and Toledo. These outreach services allow children with chronic illnesses to be seen closer to home by our premier specialty physicians.
Community Partnerships
The Department of Pediatrics works in partnership with several community-based organizations in Washtenaw County to provide care for children in need. Through these partnerships, we strive to identify and care for children who may not have adequate access to the University of Michigan Health System. Current partnerships include:
- The Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools HealthPlace 101: This is a school-based health evaluation and promotion endeavor housed at a local middle school and alternative high school program.
- The Corner Health Center: This non-profit organization provides integrated care for teenagers and at-risk teenage parents.
- Community Action Agency: Physicians from our Division of General Pediatrics partner with this organization to provide care for seasonal migrant farmworkers and their children in Southeast Michigan.
- Hope Medical Clinic: This non-profit medical clinic located in Ypsilanti, MI provides care and referral services for children and adults without medical insurance, including comprehensive dental care.
We are proud to include these community-based endeavors amongst our accomplishments in the Department of Pediatrics and look toward strengthening and expanding these community-based partnerships.
