As the largest medical center in GeneseeCounty and the region’s only Level 1 trauma center, Hurley’s emergency department handles over 76,000 annual emergency cases. Hurley Medical Center offers a continuum of services ranging from well-baby care to treatment of serious disease. When your children come to Hurley, you have the support of the entire Hurley "family", including doctors, nurses and other health care professionals who have special training in children's medicine.

GLEMSCRN Community Advisory Board (CAB)

Formed in 2006, the GLEMSCRN Community Advisory Board includes parents, prehospital providers, nurses and community advocates.  The mission of the board is to provide meaningful input regarding community needs and to allow feedback to the community regarding the results of evolving best practices. The CAB has given us useful feedback in several areas including:

  1. Methods of community consultation in the lorazepam study using the exception from informed consent process.

  2. The GLEMSCRN and PECARN research agenda

  3. Communication of research findings to the treatment community
