The PERRFECT Study at the University of Michigan

U-M Study Number: HUM00071597
The PERRFECT Study at the University of Michigan is a phase 2 clinical trial evaluating the use of the NeuroPoint medical device as a treatment for fibromyalgia. The study involves 32 stimulation treatments (30 minutes in duration each) which occur twice weekly; 1 screening visit; and 3 all-day research evaluations and brain scans, over an 18-week period. The main aim of the study is to evaluate the mechanisms and effectiveness of a noninvasive electrostimulation treatment in patients with Fibromyalgia. The treatment, known more commonly as RINCE therapy, involves a trained practitioner applying a very small electrical current at a single point on your head. During the treatment you will wear a custom designed cap to ensure proper placement of the signal, and the current will be applied using the NeuroPoint® device which is a machine that has been specifically design for RINCE therapy.
Eligibility requirements include:
Women aged between 18-65 with a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia (FM), Right-handed, Not pregnant and willing to use an acceptable method of birth control for the duration of their study participation, Willing and able to undergo three 90 minute fMRI brain scans

By joining the Registry you may also sign up to receive future communications from the Center – this may be invitations to participate in future studies for which you might be eligible or announcements about upcoming educational events. Registration may be done at the time of enrollment in one the above studies.
