Pain and Stress Management in Fibromyalgia

This is a multi-visit treatment study examining three different group therapies each known to have some effect on improving pain and functioning in FM. It is run over 15 months and involves 4 research visits of about 2 hours each (including a screening visit to check eligibility), as well as 8 therapy sessions held weekly over 2 months and last about 90 minutes each. All visits are held at Lobby M of Domino Farms.
Eligibility requirements include:
18-75; male or female; fibromyalgia diagnosis

Multidisciplinary Approach to the Study of Chronic Urologic Pelvic Pain (MAPP)

This is a multi-visit observational study involving three in-person visits, one 90 minute fMRI brain scan, and completion of bi-weekly online questionnaires over a 6 to 12-month period. If deemed eligible, at the first 3-3.5 hour visit, participants will undergo a brief pelvic examination, and undergo pressure-pain testing on their thumbnail bed. Participants will complete questionnaires about their health, symptom history, lifestyle and mood. We will also collect a blood sample, urine samples, and cheek swabs for DNA collection. Participants with will undergo two additional in-clinic visits which will be similar to the screening visit, at 6- and 12-months. (Males will not return for the 6- and 12-month follow-up visits).
Eligibility requirements include:
females with pelvic pain related to interstitial cystitis; males with fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, and/or chronic fatigue; willing to undergo a 90 minute MRI

Pain Research Registry

Participation in the registry involves a single visit to the CPFRC which involves completing questionnaires about your pain, medical and family history; undergoing a pain sensitivity assessment (optional); and donating a small sample of your blood for genetic research into pain conditions also optional). By joining the Registry you may also sign up to receive future communications from the Center – this may be invitations to participate in future studies for which you might be eligible or announcements about upcoming educational events. Registration may be done at the time of enrollment in one the above studies.
Eligibility requirements include:
18-75; persistent (chronic) pain for 3 months or more
