Chronic Sinusitis with Nasal Polyps
Chronic sinusitis with polyps is an inflammation of the sinuses that lasts more than 12 weeks and is associated with nasal polyps.
There are two common types of fungal sinusitis -- allergic fungal sinusitis and fungal ball (also known as mycetoma of the sinuses) -- and two extremely rare types of fungal sinusitis (acute or chronic invasive fungal sinusitis). Fungal sinusitis is often found in patients with immunocompromised systems (i.e., having diabetes or some other chronic illness).
Triad asthma is a clinical syndrome defined by three conditions that exist together:
- aspirin sensitivity
- nasal polyps
Triad asthma is also known as Samter’s triad or aspirin-related respiratory disease.
