Residency
Welcome!
From its inception in 1904 to the present, the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Michigan has been committed to the highest standards of patient care, graduate and post-graduate education, and basic and applied research. The 31 full time faculty members have consistently made the preparation of residents for careers in academic otolaryngology-head and neck surgery our top priority.
Small group and departmental teaching conferences occur throughout the program. Didactic teachings include weekly lectures, grand rounds and laboratory sessions. Special courses are given in temporal bone surgery, head and neck oncology, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, microvascular surgery, nasal endoscopy and research techniques.
The Otolaryngology Residency Training Program offers the opportunity for residents to also obtain an additional 12 months of research training through a T32 Training Grant. For more information, our web site can be found at here.
